This documentation relates to an older version 1.4 of the Rich Filters Add-on for JIRA. See the documentation index for other versions.
You need the Rich Filter Creator permission to create a Rich Filter. If you do not have this permission, please contact your JIRA administrator.
To create a new Rich Filter:
- Open the Issues menu at the top of the screen and select the Manage rich filters option.
- Click on the Create Rich Filter button at the top-right of your screen to open the Create Rich Filter dialog box.
- Fill the two mandatory fields:
- Enter a name for your Rich Filter.
Select an existing native JIRA saved filter as a base for your Rich Filter.
You don't necessarily have to be the owner of the existing native JIRA saved filter, but you need to at least have the rights to use it.
Click the Create button.
Congratulations, you have just created your first Rich Filter. Your Rich Filter is based on the native JIRA filter you have selected and can be further customized using the options on the left of the screen (General, Static Filters, Dynamic Filters, Smart Filters, and Views). By default you have been added as the administrator of the Rich Filter you have just created, allowing you to edit your Rich Filter.
Continue to the Navigate through Rich Filters tutorial, to learn how to navigate and explore your rich filters and those defined and shared with you by other users. This is how you can find later the Rich Filter you have just created.
Skip to Build a very simple interactive JIRA Dashboard to use your new rich filter to build a very simple interactive JIRA dashboard.
