This page relates to an older version 1.6 of Rich Filters for JIRA Dashboards for Server & Data Center. See the documentation index for other versions, or for the Cloud version of Rich Filters.

Working with Rich Filter Gadgets

There are five gadgets added by the Rich Filters plugin. The first is the Rich Filter Controller which displays buttons that control which issues are displayed by the other Rich Filter Gadgets. The four other gadgets display issue data: the Rich Filter Results gadget, the Rich Filter Statistics gadget, the Two Dimensional Rich Filter Statistics gadget, and the Rich Filter Pie Chart gadget.

You don’t need to do anything to connect the gadgets: when placed on the same dashboard, all gadgets that are configured to use the same rich filter will connect automatically to each other. When you enabled or disable quick filters (static, dynamic or smart filters) in the controller, all other gadgets will automatically reload their data, considering only the issues that match the new quick filters configuration.

You can have gadgets using two (or more) rich filters on the same dashboard. They will not affect each other, even if the two rich filters have quick filters with the same name.

You can also use any other gadgets from JIRA on the same dashboard with rich filter gadgets; they will not be affected by the quick filters, however.
