User's Guide for version 1.5

Version Highlights

  • Dashboard state permalinks
  • Σ statistic values
  • Compatibility with JIRA 7.3

You can now save the state of the rich filter gadgets on your dashboard in an URL. You can bookmark this URL or send it to someone else. The generated URL will open the dashboard and restore the rich filter gadgets to the same state (same quick filters selected, same selected views and the same sorting criteria in the Rich Filter Results gadgets).

Σ statistic values

All rich filter statistic gadgets (1D Statistics, 2D Statistics and Pie Chart) can now also output as values Σ Time Tracking fields and Σ Numeric fields.

The 'Time Tracking' and 'Numeric Fields' options only include the value stored in the issue itself. The 'Σ Time Tracking' and 'Σ Numeric Fields' options also include for each issue the values of its sub-tasks.

This allows you to support some interesting use cases. For instance, you could have a statistic on Epic Link and this way you would be able to compare, for each Epic, the Original Estimate and Time Estimate of all the stories in the Epic and their sub-tasks.

A statistic based only on Original Estimate and Time Spent would not count the time tracking on sub-tasks because the sub-tasks don't have any Epic Link (only their parents do).

The same can be applied to Story Points (or any other numeric field) and can be used for statistics on any other field that exists on the parent issues and which is not propagated to sub-tasks.

Supported JIRA Versions

The Rich Filters Add-on 1.5 is supported for JIRA versions 7.0.0 – 7.3.x. Earlier versions of the plugin exist for JIRA 6.4.x.

Installation and Upgrade

The plugin may be installed from the Atlassian Marketplace or from the Find new add-ons page.

If you have installed the Rich Filters Add-on on JIRA version 6.4, you will need to update it after upgrading to JIRA 7.x. The add-on for JIRA 6.x will not work on JIRA 7.x, but all your data and configuration will be preserved.
